Our story
Story Dental is a cosmetic family dentistry and orthodontics practice on North Story Road. It is led by Dr. Van Nguyen, and built around a simple idea: treat every patient, from 6 months old to 93 years old, with individual care.
Founder and lead dentist
Dr. Van Nguyen has been providing family, cosmetic, and orthodontic dentistry in the DFW area for over twenty years. Combining the latest in dental technology and techniques, she treats all her patients with the highest level of service, professionalism, and individual care.
Dr. Nguyen received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas A&M University System, in 2003. She takes continuing education courses every year, and is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Dallas County Dental Society, the Academy of GP Orthodontics, the Dallas Asian Dental Association, the Texas Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Family, cosmetic, and orthodontic dentistry, practiced in Irving for over twenty years.
She is fluent in Vietnamese and is learning Spanish to better accommodate her patients. Away from the practice, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with her husband and her three young daughters, gardening, jogging, and staying active with her local community.
Giving back is part of the practice. Dr. Nguyen is committed to the community that supported her journey to becoming a dentist: Story Dental accepts state funded programs such as Medicaid and CHIP, and in August 2021 proudly sponsored the Back to School Bash at Covington Creek Apartments in Irving, partnering with United Health Care.

The doctors
Periodontists, an implant and sedation dentist, and a root canal provider practice alongside Dr. Nguyen, so most treatment happens right here on Story Road.
Dentist
A native Texan who grew up in Houston. She studied business administration at The University of Texas at Austin, then earned her doctorate in dental surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2013. Off hours: her husband, their three dogs, gardening, cooking, sewing, Pilates and yoga.
Periodontist
A periodontist surgeon committed to quality patient care. He earned his dental surgery degree in 2005, specialty training in periodontology at the University of Minnesota in 2019, and an oral surgery fellowship focused on wisdom teeth and oral pathology. His interests: implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and micro-surgery.
Implants & wisdom teeth
His practice focuses almost exclusively on extracting wisdom teeth and placing dental implants, safely and comfortably, using IV (moderate) sedation. He has treated over 30,000 patients this way. DDS from the University of Illinois in 1985, then a two year residency in San Antonio.
Root canals & surgery
Our root canal and wisdom teeth surgery provider. A general dentist with extensive training in complex root canal cases, he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University and completed postgraduate training at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Periodontist & implant specialist
A board-certified periodontist and implant specialist. He trained in periodontology at New York University and earned a Master’s degree in Oral Biology, Periodontology, and Implantology from Temple University. He is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dentist
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the NYU College of Dentistry. He is glad to be back in Texas, serving the Dallas and Fort Worth community with compassionate, high-quality care.
The rest of the family
A kind and compassionate assistant who found her mission in helping others through dentistry, and is continuing her education while she helps patients achieve their beautiful smile. At home: her son, and her dog, Choco.
Jeidi has enjoyed serving Story Dental patients alongside doctors who genuinely care, with colleagues who strive to make each experience first class. Away from the chair: soaking up time with her loved ones, especially her son, Gino.
The helpful and welcoming face at the front desk for three years and going, always eager to help patients with questions and concerns. After work: time with her sister, and a good book.
